Despite a tepid reaction to their afternoon side stage gig at the 1981 Kerrville Folk Festival, twin brothers Ricky and Dickie Murdoch decided to take their neo-folk experiment into the studio.  Renaming themselves Misfit Toes, the duo's resulting EP received virtually no airplay (except for a short-lived radio jingle featuring the track "Oatmeal, Cookie"--the result of a San Antonio Mrs. Fields' franchisee licensing the song without actually listening to it).  Misfit Toes toured sporadically in the early '80s but folded when Dickie married Connie D'Amico (former bass player for Fox Patrol) and started a macramé supply business.
