Although they liked to refer to themselves as the latest “supergroup,” the members of Cynophobe were anything but, having been fired from various legitimate chart-topping rock bands for a host of reasons (overeating, tardiness, and lack of talent, just to name a few). The five English musicians hooked up in early 1982 hoping to capitalize on the rise of MTV and changing musical tastes, but their hopes were misplaced; “Pack Attack” – their only album – sold poorly (except for a strange submarket involving record burning zealots who mistook the band's name and album art as Satanic and needed fuel).
